Will Glastonbury Give Amy Winehouse Gangrene?

If you thought Amy Winehouse’s face couldn’t possibly get any worse, you’d be wrong. Experts are warning her to be careful at the Glastonbury festival for fear her mug could be gangrenous.

The scabby singer is due to play a set at the notoriously muddy music event, although the brown sludge could prevent her from enjoying it if the cuts on her arms and face become infected.

An insider told the Daily Star that medics are worried because infected cuts can lead to gangrene, an appalling condition which, if untreated, can lead to amputation of limbs.

Amy has been advised to take a nurse with her to the remote site to mummify her in bandages should her condition worsen.

Do you think Amy should take better care of herself? Be sure to leave your comments below.

Passion drives music

Tackling important social issues is an important part of the songwriting process for Crash Parallel
Singer/songwriter Tim Edward says one the goals band members had when they entered the studio to record debut album World We Know which was released by Sony BMG last month was to discuss topics that they each felt passionate about.

Most of it is real personal stuff, some stories are sort of an extension of something thats real, but most of the stories are very real in my life, Edwards tells Metro.

A lot of them have to do with things Ive gone through, things Ive experienced or observed, and some things are inspired by stories that other people have told me.

The Toronto-based alternative rock act, which also includes songwriter/guitarist Dan Saitua, bassist Gary Rugula and drummer John Vitellaro, are currently touring Canada, but return to town for a gig at The Kool Haus on June 8.

Edwards says the debut incorporates strong melodies and intimate lyrics by drawing inspiration from influences such as Coldplay, David Gray and Pearl Jam. The diverse range of songs on the album at times highlight opinions on social and political issues, but are also inspired by matters of the heart and the challenge of dealing with complicated and difficult relationships, people and situations
Part of the fun is writing stories that people can relate to or (have) gone through so that at the end of the day people are getting something out of your music, Edwards says.

The bands first single World We Know, jumped from No. 3 spot to No. 1 The Billboard Emerging Canadian Artist Chart days before the albums release.
